Rolf Sachs is one of those designers who is hard to pigeon hole. His works blurs the boundaries between art and design, with a playful and intelligent use of materials and subject matter (as well as some excellent names).
I’ve been a fan for a while, so it was exciting to see some of his new pieces from his recent Milan Design Week show, In Pulse, where his inspiration is the human body, which has created some truly unique pieces. Highlights for me are the liquid oil table and the breathing pillows that inhale as the sound of breathing reverberates through the room.
